Our history

2001 – 2002

Nyx Security is founded as a dedicated security company in Ludvika, Dalarna by entrepreneur Andreas Johansson Österberg.

2003 – 2004

The development of Nyx Security’s camera surveillance begins.

2005 – 2006

Nyx Security starts to take more and more market share and has a stable and profitable growth in sales and earnings. The first pilot installations of cameras at the customer sites connected to our remote monitoring center are completed.

2007

The Nyx Security camera surveillance system is launched as the most innovative and secure in Sweden.

2008

A new board and strategy lead to the decision to divest the local, market-leading security guard business to Rapid AB.
Sales are generated to focus, specialize and develop operations within real time monitoring based on putting the customer in the center.
Monitoring operations become Sweden’s first accredited remote monitoring center, specializing in visual camera surveillance in real time.
A comprehensive investment program and the business moves to new, larger premises in Ludvika, Sweden.

2009

Alarm operations sold to a local company in Ludvika.
A productive partnership agreement with Securitas Sweden AB is signed.
Collaboration begins with a number of regional and nationwide camera installers who can deploy Nyx Security’s systems throughout the country.
Working with Rapid AB means that Rapid uses Nyx Security’s camera surveillance system when expanding into in the Baltic States and Russia.
Focus on Nyx Security’s remote monitoring center leads to like for like growth of 150%.
Approximately 900 interventions where our operators report an incident in a monitored area.

2010

Andreas Johansson Österberg is nominated for Security Entrepreneur of the Year.
Nyx Security becomes Provider for Rapid LC in Estonia.

2011

North Zone and Amadeus Capital acquires 60% of the company and Nyx Security gets a new Board od Directors, CEO and Corporate Management.
Nyx Security signs the largest order ever with Swedish Statoil.
Andreas Johansson Österberg is named Security Entrepreneur of the Year.
Nyx Security signs partnership agreement with Niscayah.

2012

Nyx Security launches the revolutionary and proprietary service Camera Portal.
“Nyx Revolution” is launched – a new patented security concept for fewer unwanted camera alarms.
Nyx Security is named Security Company of the Year.
